Last week, Snyder ISD leaders, Mr. Bob Rauch, Snyder ISD Superintendent of Schools and Dr. Jessica Gore, Assistant Superintendent, made a quick trip to the Texas Capitol to advocate for what our teachers and students deserve—a permanent teacher pay raise and an increase to the basic allotment for every student.
Despite Texas being home to the 8th largest economy in the world, our state ranks 46th in the nation for per-pupil spending. Mr. Rauch and Dr. Gore joined advocates from across the state through Raise Your Hand Texas to speak up for the more than 5.5 million public school students and the dedicated educators who serve them.
What would a real win for Texas public education look like?
A permanent pay raise for all Texas teachers—not just a one-time check.
A $1,000 increase to the basic allotment, matching or exceeding the increase last passed in 2019.
Texas teachers and students deserve more. And for our students to succeed, schools need reliable funding to attract and retain certified, qualified educators.
Dr. Gore and Mr. Rauch didn’t just speak for Snyder ISD. They spoke for all public schools in Texas. They reminded lawmakers: A stronger Texas begins with stronger public schools.
