This past Saturday, the Snyder High School Speech and Debate team travelled to Abilene to compete at the Abilene High Key City Classic. Senior Xachariah Johnson placed first in Lincoln-Douglas Debate with an undefeated record. Xachariah has now gone undefeated at back-to-back tournaments. He has also qualified to compete at this year's Texas Forensics Association State Meet, scheduled for March. The team will compete again on October 11 at Monterey High School in Lubbock.

We are proud of all of our competitors. They represented Snyder well at this most recent tournament!

💛📣 Mini Cheer Camp Families! 📣🖤

If your child participated in Mini Cheer Camp this summer, here are the details of the upcoming performance.

Because halftime is only 15 minutes and both the visitor and home bands will be playing, our Mini Cheer Camp performance will be during pre-game activities!

✨ Here’s what you need to know:
Mini cheer campers will wear their Mini Cheer Camp shirt for the performance.
Please have your child behind the bleachers, under the student section at 6:10 PM to line up.

We will perform at 6:30 PM, and it’s going to be amazing! 💫
After the performance, you will retrieve your child at the gate closest to the concession stand once we exit the field.

We will have a rehearsal on Thursday, September 4th, from 6 pm to 7 pm at the stadium. If you didn't pick up your ​shirt at camp, we will have it for you at the rehearsal.

We can’t wait to see our mini cheerleaders shine on the field! 💛🖤

Snyder ISD campuses will be closed on Friday, August 29th and Monday, September 1st for Labor Day weekend.

We’re proud to highlight the recent Snyder Tiger Youth Football Camp! Thanks to the parents, coaches, and players who came together to create an unforgettable experience for our young athletes. From drills and teamwork to snow cones and water sprays, it was a fun and memorable few days.

Today marked the kickoff of our TEA-approved Mentor Program! We’re proud to be one of the few districts in the state not only selected for this grant, but also locally approved to manage and implement the program.

Day one of training for our mentors is in the books, and we’re excited to welcome our mentees and new teachers tomorrow at New Teacher Orientation. It’s going to be a great year of growth, support, and connection!

This week, Snyder ISD campus and district leaders attended a statewide training to strengthen our P-TECH program. P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School. It’s a program that gives high school students the opportunity to earn college credit, industry certifications, and real-world work experience while still in high school. Our goal is to make sure students graduate ready for college, a career, or both. At this training, our team learned new ways to improve the program, build strong partnerships with local businesses, and provide students with more opportunities to succeed after graduation. We’re proud to invest in programs that help our students gain a head start on their future.

🐾 Mark your calendar for Tiger Takeoff, an important come-and-go event designed to help you and your student start the school year with confidence! Each campus will host its event on a different night during the first full week of August, making it easy for families with students at multiple campuses to attend.

At Tiger Takeoff, you can:
• Meet your child's teachers (primary & intermediate)
• Pick up class schedules and plan your route around campus (junior high & high school)
• Check in with the school nurse
• Get answers to your back-to-school questions
• Learn how to get involved at your child's school

💻 Computers and staff will be available at each campus to assist families with online registration, technology fees, and completing the Free & Reduced Lunch Form. However, we strongly encourage you to complete these steps at home ahead of time so you can head straight to the exciting parts of the evening!

Snyder ISD’s Summer Strength & Conditioning (S&C) program officially kicks off Monday, welcoming Tigers and Lady Tigers who plan to compete in the 2025–2026 school year. With a strong turnout expected and an increase in student participation, the athletics department has adjusted the schedule to ensure all athletes receive quality training and support throughout the summer.

Parents and students, the coaches have been updating the "cleared" list frequently on SportsYou. Check to ensure you have everything in order to participate this summer. For students who are new to athletics or planning to join Snyder ISD next year, there are just a few steps to complete before participating in workouts. The Snyder ISD athletics staff is ready to assist—families are encouraged to stop by the athletic office, call 325-574-8830, or visit www.snyderisd.net/athletics to get started.

Due to the high level of interest, workouts have been divided into two main groups.

Incoming 9th–12th Grade Students
Strength & Conditioning: 7:00 AM – 8:15 AM
Skills (All Sports, All Grades): 8:20 AM – 9:20 AM

Incoming 7th–8th Grade Students
Skills (All Sports, All Grades): 8:20 AM – 9:20 AM
Strength & Conditioning: 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM

Water will be available, but all participants are encouraged to bring their own bottles to stay hydrated during workouts.

Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Anthony Gonzales is challenging every athlete to approach this summer with purpose. “We have an opportunity this summer to get the edge on everyone we’re getting ready to compete against next school year,” he said. “My challenge to everyone is to take it to the next level in everything you start tomorrow. Why not? Attacking everything you do with Fanatical Effort will develop the edge we need to elevate every program at Snyder Junior High and Snyder High School.”

More than just a summer workout program, this is a mindset shift—an invitation for every student-athlete to commit to excellence. From getting enough rest each night to showing up early with a great attitude, building those habits now can make all the difference in the fall. Staying hydrated, staying active, and getting quality sleep—these are tips that aren’t just for athletes, but for everyone aiming to make the most of summer.

As the first whistle blows and the early morning workouts begin, the message is clear: the work starts now. And for the Tigers and Lady Tigers, the journey toward next season begins with showing up, giving it everything, and FINISHing strong.
