Volleyball send off from TigerDrive at 3:00 today!!!

On October 30, 2019, four Snyder High School seniors put the finishing touches on their yearlong work with the STREAM, Snyder ISD's mobile learning unit with a 1st place and $2000 scholarship. Meera Bhakta, Jesi Hunter, Ruth Cabrera, and Bonnie Jasper have worked on this project through all its phases, from conception to planning, to design, to implementation. Part of their work was through the Texas Midwest Community Network (TMCN) Youth Leadership Program. This scholarship competition is open to all youth in rural West and Central Texas cities with the mission of empowering students to create meaningful change in their communities. These four seniors presented their work to the judging committee in September with the revealing of the winners at the October 30th TMCN convention. With approximately 200 people in attendance, the girls were awarded the first place prize and $2000 scholarship. District STEM Coordinator Ryan Maney said, "These girls have embodied what we at Snyder ISD want STEM learning to be - students bring given opportunities to showcase their learning in a way that can positively impact their community. These students represent their school, their community, and women in STEM with the utmost pride."

Class of 2020~ Time is running out! Senior dedications are due on Nov. 1st. Please note this price does NOT include a yearbook. Yearbook prices are $60 until Nov. 23. Yearbook prices will increase to $65 after Nov. 23rd so be sure to order early! Order forms can be picked up in the SHS glass office or in Mrs. Arnold's classroom.

School Administration will answer questions about the TEA sanctions and explain the difference in the pathway options. Student safety and parent communication are top priorities at all SISD campuses. In order to better serve you, SISD has been and will continue to share information not only on social media but also on the SISD mobile app. If you have not dowloaded the app, please do so. The app is free in both the Apple Store and Google Play store. Be sure to sign up for push notifications from SISD and the campus in which your student attends.

SISD admin has lifted the lockdown and classes are back in session! Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

All SISD campuses are currently on a hard lockdown per the request of the Snyder Police Department. All students are safe and under the supervision of staff and faculty. Parents will not be allowed in the buildings until the lockdown has been lifted. We will provide more information as it becomes available. Thank you for trusting us with the safe keeping of your children

The results have been posted and the ribbons are finally in! SHS Culinary Arts students fared well with their entries for the 2019 South Plains Fair.

Payment, dedication, and photos are due on Nov. 1st. No late entries will be taken.

Reminder! Monday is a professional development day for all staff and faculty which means a student holiday for the kids! Enjoy your day off students!

SISD Administration will hold three community meetings to discuss the educational framework for the two pathways discussed during the October 7th Community Meeting. Please make an effort to attend one of the meetings. Each meeting will provide the same information. Please join us in the SJHS cafeteria from 6-7.

Seniors, May will be here before you know it! There will be a college readiness meeting in the Student Center on Thursday, 9/26 at 6pm. SHS, counselor Labeth Carter, will discuss FAFSA and will provide you with multiple resources. Please bring your parents/ guardians.

SHS drone classes are back in action! Students in Scott Whittenburg's class are becoming familiar with the devices and are excited to begin the process of earning their pilot licenses!

SHS Culinary Art students submitted items in the South Plains Fair in Lubbock! Items will be on display in the Women's Building located on the south end of the grounds. The fair will run from Sept. 20-28th. Instructor Lisa Butler will keep us posted on the results!
